Be a little spark

I have a sponsee about to pick up a one year chip and I can see that one year funk stuff starting.  The "now what?" speech I will be hearing, the "I know God has some super special plan for me" statements.  Sobriety for an addict IS the higher calling.  I swear, even the lowest functioning addict will still want more status of some kind than just "sober."

Being a good, caring, compassionate human being is a pretty huge deal but some people still want to wear a crown to kind of seal the deal.

Let's be the little spark today. Let's tell people why we are fond of them. Let's just be a little piece of good to everyone so that the one person who desperately needs to hear it but never shows that need, will have today what God is expecting the rest of us to provide.

They DO want some kind of crown... and when I see them get it - in the form of flowers, gifts, cards, balloons... I really worry. I think it is almost the seal of death.

Guilty of the one year speech. Then the two year, "I'm not new but I am not old either." Boo Hoo. My anniversary came and went this year without any fanfare and that is OK. Thank you for your words on my blog yesterday. I am going to follow your suggestions today and B+ ;)

Thank you for the inspiration to send a spark to one of my sons. You never know what that spark will ignite.

I love the idea, Pam. I will be a little spark in many ways. But I don't want to be called Sparky!

sometimes it's just a tiny spark that makes someone else's day, very true.

Enjoy cooking Mama's recipe tomorrow. Gosh, it seems not very long ago...

I guess the whole idea of counting and measuring does imply an endpoint. like measuring lost pounds as an indicator of how 'fit' you are. It's the process, the journey, and there isn't really a destination to ever be arrived at...

I just wanted to let you know what you started. I posted my "spark" to the DH's son on his fb page and got my first "I Love You" from him after being married to his dad for 17 years. Thank You, Pammie.
