Stuff

I have enjoyed being still at home the last few nights.  Nothing like physical pain to make you sit your ass down for awhile.

Today is a team building event at work.  sigh.  The building closes at noon and all 130 of us have to report to a bowling alley for the remainder of the day.  There are teams of nine people who do not normally cross paths during the work day.  I am the team captain for my group since I can not do the "bowling thing" because of my "ouch-ness", and because I named myself team captain.  We are calling ourselves the Rolling Rebels and we are all dressing in a '50s style.  We have not been told what all the activities will be but I met with my team yesterday and we all hit it off pretty quickly.  Maybe this will be fun.....who knows.  My name for the day is Cha Cha ;-)

My youngest daughter is still in the hospital for asthma and this is the first time in her 29 years that I have not been there with her.  I am purposely letting her and her husband handle this alone.  It is hard as hell I tell you.  It does not mean that I have not been on the phone with her 3 times a day, but I know that she must begin handling her chronic health issues without me if she is ever going to be an independent adult.  Of course this is just me mothering on the fly, but it feels right and I've certainly prayed in earnest to intuitively know how to handle this situation.

Ok.....gotta go. goodbye.

Hi Cha Cha, Have fun telling people how to bowl :-) I want to know what you are wearing!

My daughter is in the middle of a big fiasco and I am leaving my paws off it. I call her every morning to see how she is doing and that is it. It's the natural progression of life - I think.

Team building. Hate it. Love it. I think your intuition is right on, Cha Cha.

Cha Cha, I think that your mothering on the fly is pretty damn good. Enjoy the bowling. I enjoy being part of the team but not chief. How did I ever be a department head at the laboratory for all those years? I think the answer is that I had a good team.

It is such a fine line of being there and being supportive to our kids without obsessing. I would absolutely hate the idea of the team building day, but once I got there I would have fun. You are a good sport Cha Cha. :o)

I've very tired today of the ongoing (and ongoing and ongoing) medication dilemma at our house.

I wish Andrew had a wife.
