53 Mill?

I read in the paper yesterday that this Justin singer kid made 53 million dollars.  My guess is that his fans are children.  What are the children doing to earn all that money to support this guy?  Just "being" should not be a golden ticket.  I had hoped that when this generation of parents quit smoking and started recycling and eating less sugar and exercising and going green, that it would somehow spill over into less spoiling of their kids too.  Entertaining kids used to be so cheap.  LOL I'm getting old!

I'm grateful that I got to spend some time with a sponsee last night talking about the 10th step.  It's amazing to me how talking to another addict just reiterates to me what needs to be done and why.

I have a three hour meeting at work today, the kind with charts and graphs that make you want to snooze or pull your hair out and run.  I'm finding it more and more difficult to sit through things like this.

I am going to seek some joy today.  I'll ask God to help me find it....but I will do the seeking myself.  For me, happy kind of depends on the circumstances but joy is a feeling in my heart that is not dependent on anything but God and life.

RE: 3 hour work meetings - You and me both baby! I have a 1 1/2 hour meeting (almost) every Monday, I (lovingly...thbbb) call it staff infection. Shhhh don't tell. LOL

Today is a 3 hour board meeting ... sigh ...

Onward and upward!

I am sure you can liven up that meeting.

And I was part of the generation who made the Beatles rich.

Hey just wanted to say I think your blog is awesome. Even though I'm not clean and sober anymore, I've enjoyed reading it the last couple weeks. You have some great insights.

Thankfully, I don't have to regularly sit through those kinds of meetings anymore. I occasionally venture back into meetings about marine science, but only if I choose to do so now!

Oh I was always so bad at those meetings and hated to have to present them. Wishing you well today.

There would have been a time in my life when I would have sold my soul for the fame and money of Justin B. Today, as a result of recovery and gOd, I'm just fine being average (wages and all!) I like my anonymity and the simplicity of my life.

I started out today with stress, then I said "WWPD" (what would Pammie do?)

Pammie would say you can make this day into anything you want (you said that here somewhere in the last couple of weeks). So I made a conscious effort to see the good in my life. The Dad was still being a jerk, but I was joyful.

I think you must be talking about Justin Beiber. The kid started posting his songs on youtube and Music City, or whatever, came calling.
