Run Rabbit Run

I met with a sponsee on my lunch break yesterday and I wanted to go tie her family to chair and give 'em what for. When you watch someone like a hawk, the watched person begins to feel like the hawks prey.

Some families believe that the hawk approach is the only way they can keep their own sanity.  If they watch their addict for signs of using then they can some how protect themselves before the onslaught of a "drug run."  Really?  Is that really what your experience has shown you?

Damn, I have to hit the shower for work........I want to write about this so I'll continue tomorrow.

Stay in the day!

They need a good Step One.

Seems as if it is all part of the same viscious cycle. But when the unexpected happens, like the person actually stays sober, that can screw them up even more because now they really do not know to do! The script has been suddenly changed. Another example of how addiction can make the entire family
sick(er).

I used to this, of course. Now I know the solution to "watching" is confronting the addict, and enforcing consistent boundaries. If a drug run comes, I don't wait to see how it's going to turn out before disengaging.

Funny.
That's just one reason I go to Al Anon.

:) Watching for failure is sure to bring it into being in some shape form or fashion.

Worry is agnosticism and worrying is praying bad sh..stuff into existence (two things I've learned from my sponsor)

Thank God my sponsor also said, its about you being a practical demonstration of God to others :)

I will pray for strength and hope for your sponsee :)

It is sometimes hard to not dislike the families of those we sponsor.

A watched alcoholic/ addict does not do anything but drive those watching crazy.
