Monday Morning

Yesterday was my home group birthday celebration for June birthdays.  I received my 21st bouquet of flowers from a man that had 6 months when I came into the program.  He had a stroke this year and his grown "normal" daughter had to help him into the meeting and speak for him.  She said (with a smile) "I have never known why it was so important for my Dad to bring flowers every year for some white woman, but he insisted, so I drove him here from New Orleans."  It is truly another sober year for me when I hold my roses from Donald.  We build a foundation with certain people in the beginning and we nurture that foundation.

I sat next to a newcomer girl last night and just loved her instantly.  When this happens, I know that God is at work so I'm anxious to see what part we will play in each others lives over the coming months.

I think I'm ready for the new week.  It's coming whether I'm ready or not.  Be kind.

I love it when I meet a new person and we "click." And you are so loved Pammie. What an amazing thing that despite his own adversity, YOU are so loved by this particular friend that he will move heaven and earth, and seek help to be at your birthday meetin. That says a lot about who you are to those around you. It says something about him too....but you are my focus right now! :o)

I love the Donalds of the world. I'm not sure I would be sober without the Donalds God placed in my life. How awesome that he came to give you roses.

So sweet. So glad I read this today. xoxox

Nice, Pammie. I am glad that there are those people who remain friends and have so much respect after many years. You are awesome and deserve flowers.

Pammie, I've been so wiped out by going back to work for the first time in 5 years, I thought the little saying at the top was a To-Do List: Forget, Shit, Move On. Check. Check. Check.

I hope you recognize how important you must have been in Donald's life, and in the life of so many others.
