Sucking the Day Dry

  • Sponsee told me last night that her treatment center aftercare facilitator told her group that drinking non-alcoholic beer could be quite helpful in eliminating a craving. Upon hearing this, I almost threw my hands in the air and cried "sweet Jesus" before collapsing to the ground with a wet rag to my forehead.
  • Power tools can change your life if you are a metal artist with years of hammers, pliers and hand held cutting tools. Just sayin'.
  • Yesterday, for reasons unknown to me, I went through the phone list of employees at my business location and discovered that I was the oldest female in the building.  I quickly went to the offices of two other women who I knew were about my age and inquired about their year of birth.  Both of these women were younger than me.  I do not know what to do with this information in my head.  It's kind of shocking to me for some reason but I'm not sure exactly what is bugging me about it.
  • You know that long held "theory" that everyone gets old and dies?  It's fuckin' true man!!!
  • You know what I miss?  The round containers of bath powder that came with the big white round powder puffs.  You just don't see that anymore.  I want to get out of the shower and do some powder puffing.
  • And so Thursday begins with my mind all over the damn place as usual.  Let's suck as much livin' as we can out of this day.

I only work with 10 people but I determined the other day that I am probably the heaviest of them all. That bothered me for some reason. I don't necessarily have the worst body. I just weigh the most. I'm still irked by it.

You must have some really young employees because you're not old.

I'm not getting old without a fight. Wearing your wrinkles like a badge is BS!

After my mother died in 1999 at 58 of lung cancer, one of the first things I saved from her dressing table was her Chanel No. 5 powder box with the big white puff. I still have it and I couldn't figure out why I've been saving it till I read this post. Thanks... x/G

Congratulations on being the Queen. I would immediately begin demanding respect from everyone. I am the oldest person in my nursing class of almost 50 students.
And now, I too, would like a powder puff. wonder if chanel still makes them? Looks like I have to go to Macy's! Sending smoochie queenie love your way.

I really like my power tools. And I have been using them a lot lately.

Hmmmm, I thought I left a comment this morning...

I am getting used to being the oldest. As long as I don't look like it, I am OK with it.

Ah yes, the helpfulness of non-alcoholic beer in ridding one of the obsession with beer.

I still have a powder puff somewhere in a round container of white magnolia talcum powder. I can't use it because I smell overwhelmingly flowery sweet and southern belle but I love the puff.

OMG I can't believe someone told your sponsee that. The director of my AC doesn't even like root beer bottles that resemble beer bottles. Some people just don't truly "get it".

My memaw always had those powder things. Might need to get one for memory sake :)
