sigh

Well things change in the blink of an eye sometimes don't they?  I got up early Saturday morning for a fundraising event and my husband was not feeling too well.  He developed a nose bleed but he seemed to have it under control so I left and told him to call me in an hour.  Over the next couple of hours it became frighteningly bad and by 3:00pm Saturday he was in ICU. Saturday night they finally took him to the OR.  He is still in ICU and his face looks like he's been hit with a baseball bat.  Towards the end of the surgery his blood pressure spiked and the bleeding started all over again. They have enough gauze stuffed up inside his sinuses to fill a mattress.  Nobody seems to have a clear answer.  Since the visitation in ICU is 30 minutes on every odd numbered hour, I have been doing a lot of sitting, waiting, and driving.  The hospital is only 4 miles from home so that has been a HUGE blessing for me.  He is a cantankerous man and so having him doped up on morphine is quite helpful for me!  Tomorrow is a work day and so I'll have to figure out how to manage that this week but God knows my schedule and will help me not stress over all that.  I'm just dreading the moment...and it will come, when I walk in the ICU and my husband says "get me the fuck outta here."  sigh.  I like to use the word "cantankerous" for him because it sounds so much nicer than saying "when my husband is in pain, he can be such an asshole."

very scary stuff! and I bet if you called in to work and told them your husband is in ICU nobody would bat an eye if you take the day off to be with him. I'll be thinking about you today.

Yikes! Thinking of you both. They won't let him out no matter how cantankerous he is..until they get to the bottom of this.

I pray whatever it is, it is quickly remedied!

It'll pass. One minute at a time.

Pammie, Praying that the doctors find a solution to this. I used to have nosebleeds that lasted for hours when I was a kid, they are scary. I finally had my nose cauterized. Hope the solution is as simple as that for your hubby.

PS, I can comment on this computer, but not my other one, but I am glad I can comment on my fav blog :)
