Who Gave Us Elvis?

I'm running late this morning because that one perfect comfortable position didn't happen until 5 minutes before the alarm.

Someone recited an old tired funny cliche in a meeting last night and as I was inwardly rolling my eyes the entire room broke out laughing.  I forget that not everyone has heard all the old tired funny stuff.

My pet peeve for the last few years has been the closing circle prayer at the end of meetings and the lack of respect shown by some people when asked to "take us out."
"Who's large and in charge?"
"Who sees us naked?"
"Who gave us Elvis?"
Really? Is this the way you approach God?  Do you need a laugh from the whole group so badly that you are willing to mock God to get it?  Believe me, I hunt them down after the meeting and ask them just that.

I have that comfortable position before the alarm thing happen to me every single morning. I'm not a morning person and I desperately wish to be.

Have a great weekend, Pam!

I don't get that stuff either. Why not just say the prayer and forget the other "cutsie rehab speak" stuff?
