The Boy is Here!

As most of you "regulars" know, my sweet precious sober daughter gets to see her only child three times a year; one week in winter, one week in the spring and one week in the summer.  Yesterday started the summer week and I could not drive fast enough when I left my meeting to get to her house and hug him.  He is 12 years old now....holy cow.  This arrangement has been in place since he was 3.  He lives with his fathers' sister about 4 hours away and I could have had him to my house anytime, but I made the decision long ago that this is a family "thing" and when she gets him, "we" get him. He is her child not mine (it took me a long time to get that).  He is the only child of my three adult children and we were all there last night.  Oh he is wiry and tall and handsome and funny and loving and loved.

There are moments in my day when I genuinely don't know why my life is what it is....the good and bad.  I know that it has all been based on moment to moment decisions though and it hits me at times that the tiny little decisions we make in every moment of the day do add up.  This simply motivates me to give my whole heart to seeking Gods will for me.

Wednesday is "my day" with the boy!  I'm taking the day off work and we will play.
