Monday Morning

Another Mothers Day come and gone.  I had a lovely breakfast at my oldest girls home with lots of new baby smoochy time.  Sober daughter and her husband were there also.  A couple of hours of "my turn" to hold him now.  A baby can be so entertaining.  Mothers Day would be better served on a weekday with a day off work in my opinion.

I have been successfully utilizing an old trick that one of sober girls shrinks showed us years ago.  When your mind is racing around in yesterdays crap or tomorrows fears, you pick the first color you see (wherever you are at the moment) and then you search with your eyes for six more objects with the same color.  It really does pull you back into the moment.  I like to do this with about 3 different colors, and it does help me get back on task of the day at hand.  Just sharing that with my blog peeps.

I saw my eleven year old neighbor up in a tree yesterday secretly texting on the iphone that she is grounded from using.  I dislike being put in that position.  What to tattle about and what not to.  When I sense danger, I tell their Mama, otherwise I usually just keep it to myself.  They have five kids, so one of them is always up to something.

Let's be kind to the people who get on our nerves today, it sometimes makes their presence more palatable.

This is my other neighbors dog Daphne.  I thought this was so funny.

I'm so glad you got to hold a baby on Mother's Day. It is a great consolation - everything is really going to be OK.

Poker-faced Daphne! Love that pic.

That trick with the colours sounds good.

Leave it to you to pick 3 colors! I can barely manage the one and then looking around for 6 more items of that color. lol

Perfect reminder at the bottom of your blog today. I go to my meeting tonight where I sit gritting my teeth. :o)

And new baby smooch time? You are the luckiest of us all! You and MC...she posted a new baby pic today too. I am so jealous!

The dog photo is great. And so cool that you didn't rat out the kid. Mother's generally have a sixth sense and will likely find out anyway.
Sounds like a happy day!

The most common reason for hating Monday is that it follows two days of freedom and fun. For most, however, that's sheer fantasy. Whether single or have family responsibilities, the weekend is chore time – cleaning, shopping, fixing and buying.

They say that you'll hate Mondays because you don't like your job, but not for me. I don't hate Mondays. I got sober with the help of Transcend Recovery Community. Check out their site if you are looking for help.
